Pengertian Present Continuous Tense

Present continuous tense alias
present progressive tense
adalah bentuk pembukaan kerja yang digunakan untuk menyatakan gerakan yang sedang berlangsung sekarang (present) alias rajah di masa depan (future). Karena dapat digunakan pada
present
atau
future, tense ini sering diiringi adverbial of time bakal memperjelasnya.

Rumus Present Continuous Tense

Present continuous tense dibentuk dengan auxiliary verb “be”, aktual is/am/are – karena
present tense
(waktu sekarang),  dan present participle (-ing).

Is
digunakan plong subject berupa
singular noun (seperti: Tita, book) dan
third person singular
pronoun (seperti: she, he, it);are
pada
plural noun (seperti: boys, men, books),
plural pronoun (begitu juga: we, they) dan
you; sementara
am
pada
I.

Galibnya
tense ini tetapi terjadi pada gerakan berupa dynamic atau action verb, tidak
stative verb. Cak kenapa seperti itu? karena secara umum hanya
dynamic verb
yang memiliki bentuk
continuous.

Berikut rumuspresent continuous tense untuk kalimat positif, destruktif, dan interogatif.

kalimat berupa (+)

S + be (am/is/are) + present participle (-ing)

• The ships
  are sailing.
  (Kapal-kapal itu madya melaut.)
• He
  is smiling.
  (Dia medium tersenyum.)

kalimat negatif (-)

S + be (am/is/are) + titinada + present participle (-ing)

• The ships
  are
  not
  sailing.
  (Kapal-kapal itu tidak medium melaut.)
• He
  is
  titinada
  smiling.
  (Beliau tidak sedang tersenyum.)

kalimat interogatif (?)

be (am/is/are) + S + present participle (-ing)?

• Are
  the ships
  sailing?
  (Apakah kapal-kapal itu sedang berlayar?)
• Is
  he
  smiling?
  (Apakah engkau sedang tersenyum?)

Fungsi dan Contoh Kalimat Present Continuous Tense

1. Present continuous tense
   bakal membahas suatu aksi yang sedang terjadi sekarang.
   Time expression (pengumuman waktu) nan bisa digunakan antara lain:
   • now
     (kini)
   • at the moment
     (masa ini)
   • over the holidays
     (selama periode perlop)

   Contoh Kalimat Present Continuous Tense

   • She
     is brushing
     the bathroom floor.
     (Dia semenjana menyikat lantai kamar mandi.)
   • I‘m driving
     a car to Bandung now.
     (Saya sedang mengendarai mobil ke Bandung kini.)
   • He‘s learning
     English in titipan to be a great guide.
     (Beliau sedang mempelajari bahasa Inggris semoga menjadi pemandu wisata nan hebat.)
   • I‘m living
     with my sister at the moment.
     (Saya silam dengan saudara perempuan saya momen ini.)
2. Present continuous tense
   bagi meributkan suatu tulangtulangan atau perpindahan ke suatu gelanggang/kondisi. Keterangan hari nan bisa digunakan antara enggak:
   • on Sunday
     (pada hari Minggu)
   • 
     at nine o’clockon Sunday
     (lega pukul sembilan hari Pekan)
   • next week/month
     (minggu/rembulan depan)
   • this month
     (bulan ini)

   Komplet Kalimat Present Continuous Tense

   • I’m spending
     my holiday on Kuta beach next month.
     (Saya sedang menghabiskan liburan di tepi laut Kuta ujung bulan depan.)
   • You can’cakrawala call me this night. I’m going to my best friend’s wedding.
     (Beliau tak bisa mengabari saya lilin lebah ini. Saya akan meninggalkan ke pernikahan sahabat saya.)
   • The buses
     are arriving
     in an hour.
     (Bus-bus tersebut start internal satu jam.)
   • I‘m moving
     to West Jakarta this month.
     (Saya pindah ke Jakarta Barat bulan ini.)
3. Present continuous tense
   lakukan kuak kerunsingan atas usaha yang terjadi tautologis bisa jadi.

   Contoh Kalimat Present Continuous Tense

   • Why

     the wild dog always
     barking
     at me?
     (Kok anjing liar itu gelojoh menggonggong puas saya?)
   • I‘m getting
     sick of you always asking the same questions.
     (Saya menginjak muak dengan kamu yang selalu lamar tanya-soal yang sederajat.)
   • My boss
     is
     always
     yelling
     at me and
     complaining
     about everything.
     (Bos selalu meneriaki saya dan mengeluh tentang segala peristiwa.)
